The trailer floodgates opened this week! Trailers have poured in one after another, bringing new looks at horror, action, animation, and more. If your watchlist wasn’t crowded enough, last week just made things worse. Here are the biggest trailers that grabbed attention this week. 

Minotaur

MUBI

MUBI released the trailer for Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Minotaur. It is the sixth film from the two-time Academy Award-nominated director and follows a high-powered Russian executive whose carefully controlled existence falls apart when work problems, global turmoil, and marital betrayal hit at once.

The cast includes Iris Lebedeva, Dmitriy Mazurov, Boris Kudrin, Yuriy Zavalnyouk, and Varvara Shmykova. The film boasts a 98% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes after its world premiere at the 79th Cannes Film Festival this year. US and Canadian audiences can catch the film in theatres starting November 20, 2026. 

Minotaur also gained after it received the Grand Prix and is now France’s selection for the Best International Feature category heading to the Oscars 2027. 

Crystal Lake

Peacock

Peacock unleashed a full trailer for the Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, which takes audiences back to the mother’s life before the events of the 1980’s first film. This involves the drowning of her son, Jason, and subsequent murderous incidents. 

Brad Kane serves as the creator and showrunner. The project brings together Linda Cardellini, Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik. The series premieres on October 15. 

Primetime

A24

A24 released a brand new trailer for the psychological crime thriller, Primetime, where Robert Pattinson stars as TV host Chris Hansen. The fictionalized version of the real-life controversial series, To Catch a Predator, examines the behind-the-scenes production orchestrated as high-stakes sting operations for taking down online sexual predators luring young girls to meet them.  

Lance Oppenheim directs the film, which hits the big screen on September 25, 2026. The film has already earned an impressive 93% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes after its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. Other Mommy

Universal Pictures

Jessica Chastain is not coming slow in Universal Pictures’ second official trailer for Other Mommy. Rob Savage takes the director’s chair of the story based on the book “Incidents Around the House” by Josh Malerman. The story focuses on an eight-year-old girl who encounters a sinister entity that takes the form and voice of her mother. 

The cast includes Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark, Dichen Lachman, and Arian Moayed. Written by Nathan Elston and produced by James Wan, Other Mommy arrives in theaters on October 9.   

Wildwood

Laika

Laika shared the final trailer for its sixth stop-motion feature, Wildwood. Directed and produced by the studio’s boss, Travis Knight, the story is about a determined teenager whose baby brother is kidnapped by a group of crows. She sets out on a rescue mission into a magical forest, the Impassable Wilderness, hidden just outside Portland, Oregon. 

Among the voice cast are Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Richard E. Grant, Awkwafina, and Tom Waits. The film heads to theaters on October 23 via Fathom Entertainment. 

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

Lionsgate

Lionsgate gives fans another look at Sunrise on the Reaping with a new trailer for Suzanne Collins’ fifth novel in the series. Set 24 years before the original Hunger Games trilogy, it shows the 50th Hunger Games, in which 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) competes. 

The starring lineup includes Jennifer Lawrence, McKenna Grace, Elle Fanning, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, and Whitney Peak. Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie wrote the screenplay, while Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, and Francis Lawrence produce the pic. Lawrence also serves as the film’s director, and it is set to open in theaters on November 20.
