The Pitt is a medical procedural drama television series created by R. Scott Gemmill, and executive produced by John Wells and Noah Wyle after the same group collaborate on ER. It stars Wyle, Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, and Shabana Azeez.
Each season of the series follows emergency department staff as they attempt to overcome the hardships of a single 15-hour work shift at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, all while having to navigate staff shortages and underfunding. Each episode covers approximately one hour of the work shift.
Today we are diving back in to the chaos of HBO’s Emmy-award winning medical drama which returned earlier this year with its second season. Season One established the show’s real time ER structure and introduced us to the staff working in one of the most chaotic emergency rooms on television. Season Two has kept that formula going, but has continued to raise the stakes significantly. We have some new doctors, new relationships. We have the hospital experimenting with AI systems. By the time we reach episode 10, the ER is in complete chaos with one of its most intense crises. Today we’re breaking down those first ten episodes of Season Two of The Pitt.
