THE ROLLING TAPE

Des Mack

Des is a born-and-raised New Jerseyan who found her love for film through B-tier comedy and horror movie binge-watches with her dad. At their core, three types of movies will always have them sat and ready to press play: sentimental and grief-themed films that give you a cathartic cry, erotic cinema that has you howling to the moon (bonus points if its sapphic), and horror films that will make you feel ill or have subtext relative to womanhood, race, and/or queerness. With The Rolling Tape, Des is ready to bring a unique perspective and sense of curiosity to thoughtful discussions with the rest of the team and to use her loud-and-proud voice to bring underseen films to the forefront. The first movie? Last Holiday (2006), directed by Wayne Wang, starring Queen Latifah.
