Universal released a new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s biographical epic, Oppenheimer, set to release only in theaters July 21, 2023. Starring Cillian Murphy as the titular character, the film is a biographical drama that explores the life and work of the enigmatic physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who led the Manhattan Project during World War II.
The cast is a veritable who’s who of Hollywood talent, including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr., as well as Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Harnet, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Dane DeHaan, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich, Matthew Modine, and Josh Peck.
Nolan adapted the script based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin and shot it in IMAX 65 mm, with sections in IMAX black and white for the first time ever. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven, and Christopher Nolan.
