Single day films utilize the technique of a closed period of time to tell their stories, often making time an additional character of the film creating a sense of urgency or embedding deadlines for the character’s lives and actions. We look at two films, La Haine (1995) and Do the Right Thing (1989) that utilize this technique to convey their impactful and interconnected themes and narratives.
