A24, the production and distribution company best known for films like Midsommar (2019), Hereditary (2018), and Uncut Gems (2019), had a mixed bag in 2025. Some movies were far more successful (what up, Marty Supreme?) than others (hey, The Smashing Machine), yet they maintained their lofty “film bro” status among elite cinephiles. After a successful box office run with Marty Supreme, can they use that momentum going into 2026? Here is what’s currently on the slate for them:

The Moment (January 30, Nationwide)

Most would argue that Charli XCX already had her “moment” during the brat madness of late 2024, but A24 says differently. The Moment, directed by Aidan Zamiri, who previously directed music videos for Billie Eilish and FKA Twigs, is a mockumentary that follows a rising pop star (Charli XCX) as she navigates the complexities of fame while preparing for her arena tour. The movie is slated to have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

Pillion (February 6, Limited)

A24

Harry Melling as a timid gay man and Alexander Skarsgård as an enigmatic biker who start a BDSM relationship? Say less! Pillion had its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and received a seven-minute standing ovation before A24 acquired the distribution rights in October 2025. Having already played several fall festivals and garnering critical and audience acclaim, it’s easy to see why A24 is releasing this in February to dominate the cultural conversation, of which I’m sure it’ll do! You can read our first reactions to the film here.

The Undertone (March 13, Nationwide)

A24

For a distribution company that made its name on original horror, it’s no surprise to find a new original horror movie on the slate for A24 in 2026. The Undertone will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. It is a directorial debut (another one of A24’s specialties!) for Ian Tuason and follows a woman who hosts a paranormal podcast. After she receives some abnormally creepy audio recordings from a young pregnant couple, the hidden messages they contain begin to reveal themself and drive her further toward madness.

The Drama (April 3, Nationwide)

A24

The Drama features two of the biggest movie stars in the world right now (Zendaya and Robert Pattinson) in a romantic comedy drama. This is what we have been waiting for! From director Kristoffer Borgli, whose 2023 Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage was also under the A24 umbrella, The Drama tracks a couple just days before their wedding when one partner discovers alarming truths about the other. If A24 can play its cards right with this release, it could be an incredibly successful counterprogram to other big movies releasing in April.

Mother Mary (April 24, Nationwide)

A24

Anne Hathaway is on track for an astoundingly busy 2026, with movies like The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, and A24’s psychological horror Mother Mary. Directed by David Lowery, known for A Ghost Story, the film follows iconic pop star Mother Mary (Hathaway) and her psychosexual affair with her best friend and former costume designer, Sam (Michaela Coel), on the eve of her big comeback performance. Featuring a supporting cast that includes Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, and FKA Twigs, this has “A24-core” written all over it.

The Death of Robin Hood (Rumored Summer 2026)

A24

Fans of movies like The Green Knight (2021) and The Northman (2022), look no further! The Death of Robin Hood is here! Hugh Jackman stars as Robin Hood, a murderous traveler suddenly revived to life by a cryptic woman, played by Jodie Comer. With a cast that also includes Bill Skarsgård and Noah Jupe of recent Hamnet fame, and written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, who has helmed thrillers such as Pig (2021) and A Quiet Place Day One (2024), The Death of Robin Hood has grit, scope, and hardcore action based on the trailer, and what’s not to love about that?

The Backrooms (Rumored Summer 2026)

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kane Parsons, and Renate Reinsve

A24 has a knack for finding iconic first-time directors, and The Backrooms should continue that streak. YouTuber Kane Parsons is evolving his science fiction horror shorts series on his channel into an A24-distributed summer horror stalwart starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, and Mark Duplass. A therapist must chase after a patient who goes missing, but she must enter an unknown dimension beyond reality to do so. I expect A24 to take full advantage of the creepy aura of this movie and deliver a cool marketing campaign and movie release.

The Entertainment System Is Down (Rumored Fall 2026)

Ruben Östlund

Academy Award-nominated director Ruben Östlund is back with another satirical black comedy after his highly successful Triangle of Sadness (2022). This time, it is about a group of passengers who must contend with their boredom on a lengthy flight in which the entertainment system is broken. Starring Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Brühl, Samantha Morton, and Nicholas Braun, The Entertainment System is Down will surely be an Oscar play from A24 and something to get really, really excited for.
