The 2025 Cannes Film Festival announced its Jury members on Monday morning, with Three Colours: Blue and The English Patient actress Juliette Binoche named President.
Joining Binoche are American actress and filmmaker Halle Berry (Monster’s Ball, X-Men), Indian director and screenwriter Payal Kapadia (All We Imagine as Light), Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher (Maria, Happy as Lazzaro), Franco-Moroccan writer Leïla Slimani, Congolese documentary filmmaker Dieudo Hamadi (Atalaku, Mama Colonel), South Korean screenwriter and director Hong Sang-soo (On the Beach at Night Alone, The Day After), Mexican screenwriter and director Carlos Reygadas (Our Time, Japón), and American actor Jeremy Strong (Succession, The Apprentice).
The jury will review all 21 films in Competition and determine the recipient of the 2025 Palme d’Or and other competition prizes, such as the Grand Prix.
The festival will open with Amélie Bonnin’s directorial debut, Partir Un Jour. Many in Competition films that will be screened are some of the most highly anticipated films of 2025, such as Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme, Ari Aster’s Eddington, Julia Ducournau’s Alpha, and Oliver Hermanus’ The History of Sound.
The festival will run from May 13th to May 24th. The lineup can be found here.
The previous recipient of the 2024 Palme d’Or was Sean Baker for his film, Anora, and it was presented by last year’s Jury President, Greta Gerwig. Baker went on to win four Academy Awards for Anora, including Best Picture.
