Midwest-raised but Madrid-based, Val grew up watching telenovelas and Turner Classic Movies, so she is a lifetime film & pop culture connoisseur.  With a background in communication and PR, Val is a professional fan girl turned media maven. In addition to co-hosting the film and entertainment podcast, Empty Theater Club, she is currently a graduate student in Spain (and missing her weekly dose of red40 from the movie theaters back home).
