In brightest day, in blackest night, no bad TV shall escape our sight. Let those who watch it day and night beware the power of The Rolling Remote’s light…

The Rolling Remote is The Rolling Tape’s official home for all things television and today we are talking about Lanterns, HBO’s new take on the iconic Green Lantern characters from DC Comics.

The series stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, and Kelly Macdonald, and follows two Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, as they get pulled into a murder mystery in the American heartland.

The series comes from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, with Mundy serving as the showrunner. It’s also one of the first major pieces of the new DC Universe from DC Studios, so there are a lot of interesting and exciting implications that come from this series and could affect the wider DCU.

Now that we’ve seen the whole season, we’re here to talk about what worked, what didn’t work, where all of these characters end up, and what we think Lanterns means for the wider scope of superhero television.
