Hot Diggity! That’s Digger and Verity for those at home wondering, it’s a double feature day on The Rolling Tape podcast, but not just any double feature, it’s the start of October and all month long we are going to be celebrating cross programming with not one, but two sides to each of our weekly reviews and interactive audience polls about each movie. Perhaps nothing for the rest of the month will pair swagger and smut quite like this one. It’s Michael Showalter’s smutty psychological thriller and Alejandro Iñárritu’s climate comedy.
Verity is directed by Michael Showalter, written by Nick Antosca, and based on Colleen Hoover's novel of the same name. The film follows Lowen Ashleigh, who is hired to ghostwrite for Verity Crawford, and uncovers what appears to be Verity's autobiographical notes. She wrestles with the confessions about Verity's husband and finds separating fiction from reality challenging. It stars Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway, and Josh Hartnett.
Digger is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris Jr., and Nicolás Giacobone. The most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity's savior before the disaster he's unleashed destroys everything. Alongside Tom Cruise as the titular Digger Rockwell, it stars Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons.
Our pre-episode Patreon exclusive conversation features:

- Remain World Premiere & trailer watchalong
