Bottoms is the newest queer coming-of-age film that has kept audiences coming back to see it more than once in the theatre. With a random assortment of actors on the silver screen, this film is catapulting cast members into the limelight, and deservingly so.

With little to no marketing other than a few funny TikTok videos made between Rachael Sennott and Ayo Edebirir, the film has done objectively well at the box office.

Released August 25, the film opened with $461,052 but has now jumped to $7,607,831 domestically. The film ranks number 10 at the beginning of this week’s (9/10/2023) box office analysis, still falling well behind major summer players such as Barbie and Oppenheimer and new releases The Nun II and The Equalizer 3.

The film is currently scored above 90% by both audiences and critics on Rotten Tomatoes, so it’s possible the film will be a slow money-maker.
