Initially debuting in front of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy in select theaters, the teaser for Evil Dead Burn has finally been released online.
In one continuous shot, a young woman in a house (Souhelia Yacoub) crawls to safety as bodies are tossed around her by Deadites like ragdolls. The teaser promises more Necronomicon mayhem and a new release date of July 10, two weeks earlier than its initially scheduled July 24.
The official plot synopsis reads:
“After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life… live on even in death.”
Evil Dead Burn continues the modern franchise’s tradition of a final girl (Yacoub is preceded by Lily Sullivan and Jane Levy from Evil Dead Rise (2023) and Evil Dead (2013), respectively) and the uplifting of smaller horror directors, with this film being director Sébastien Vanicek’s second feature. Burn will be followed by Evil Dead Wrath in April 2028, directed by Francis Galluppi.
